Barkan Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is from the Barkan Winery, the second largest in Israel. It was founded in 1990, and its head winemaker is Ed Salzberg. The winery moved to Kibbutz Hulda near Rehovot in 2000. Barkan's exceptional Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon has been created to achieve the perfect balance of fruit aromas and barrel aging. The grapes are hand selected from vineyards located in the Northern Galilee and harvested at exactly the right moment to create a big and firm wine that maintains its fruit character without being overly alcoholic. The wine is then barrel aged for at least 20 months, mostly in French oak, to establish its balanced character. The result is an elegant rich and dark wine that will continue to improve in the bottle for several years. It has received Gold Medals from Vinalies and Terravino.
