Founded in 1998 by Golam, Gilad and Kami Flam, the Flam winery quickly established itself as one of the most exciting boutique wineries in Israel. The winery is located in the idyllic Judean hills near Jerusalem and produces breathtaking kosher wines that are inspired by both ancient Israeli wine heritage and modern European methods and technologies.
The Flam family has been making their Classico red wine blend since the first years of the property. It is a complex, multi-layered composition of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Petit Verdot grapes, which are grown in the Mata vineyard in the Judean hills. This place is about 650 meters above sea level, which means that the hot and sunny days are offset by cooling mountain breezes and cooler nights. These climatic conditions help to maintain the freshness of the grapes and at the same time achieve optimal ripeness.
The Classico spends 10 months in French oak barrels at the winery, followed by a further 6 months in bottle. In the boquet there are attractive notes of dark berries as well as notes of chocolate, roasted coffee beans and sweet spices. Take a sip and you will discover a generous, full body, firm tannins and an impressively long finish.
